A group of thoughtful and caring donors joined together to name the dog park in honor of their good friend Johnny Steele. For more than 30 years, Johnny’s name has been synonymous with elegance and beauty as witnessed by the civic spaces and private gardens he has designed throughout our city and state. Johnny routinely applies his boundless energy, talent and enthusiasm to volunteer efforts including Buffalo Bayou Partnership. Honoring Johnny as part of Buffalo Bayou Park—one of our city’s most significant civic milestones—is truly fitting. Last month, the group of friends gathered at the Johnny Steele Dog Park to reveal their surprise to Johnny and celebrate his selfless dedication to his friends, family and clients.
BBP thanks all of the generous Johnny Steele Dog Park donors (pictured below at the surprise reveal): Karol and Paul Barnhart, Polly and Murry Bowden, Jenny Elkins, Cherie and Jim Flores, Elise and Russell Joseph, Cynthia and Anthony Petrello, Beth Robertson, Leslie Elkins and Shannon Sasser, Ginny and L.E. Simmons, and Judy and Charles Tate.
